Five Layers of defensible authority.

The four pillars describe what SAFE✓™ does. The five layers describe how the organization is built, the expert domains that make it work.

Dr. Carla Mazzeo defines the scientific thresholds for certification, identity, purity, potency, and bioactivity, drawn directly from MISEV2023, which she co-authored. It is the reference framework used worldwide by researchers, regulators, and manufacturers. When SAFE✓™ sets a threshold, it comes from the same source as the worldwide guidelines.

She also spent years in the Exosomes/EVs industry as a Director of R&D. The authority behind the mark comes directly from the standard itself, not from any claim we make about it.

The Trust Layer is the technological backbone designed to make SAFE✓™ certificates verifiable by anyone, anywhere, without contacting SAFE✓™ at all. When a sample is submitted, analytical data is designed to enter a hardware-secured enclave that even SAFE✓™ personnel cannot access, protecting client confidentiality absolutely.

The certification outcome is designed to be cryptographically signed inside the enclave, then written to an immutable blockchain, a permanent, tamper-proof public record. Revocation or lapse will be recorded the same way, making the public registry immune to manipulation. During audits, proprietary process data is designed to be processed encrypted end-to-end, so auditors can evaluate compliance without ever seeing confidential manufacturing data. The mathematics proves it.

Led by an AI strategist who deploys enterprise AI at Fortune 100 scale. Over time, the certified dataset becomes one of the most valuable assets in the EV industry, a growing, cryptographically verified record of what certified products actually look like. Because data is verified before it enters the system, the AI running on it is trustworthy in a way no other life-sciences AI platform currently is.

This layer turns data into quality prediction, regulatory-readiness scoring, and benchmarking. It also continuously monitors the FDA, EMA, and global regulatory bodies to keep certified companies current.

The gap between laboratory science and clinical application is where most standards fail. This layer is led by an IRB Chair with 16+ years of translational research in regenerative medicine, ensuring every SAFE✓™ standard meets the bar required for human-research compliance and integrates into real clinical practice.

The expertise spans full FDA regulatory-pathway navigation (achieved FDA approval for an international biotech startup from zero), Director-level regulatory affairs in the Cell/Biologics division, and founding membership of the American Academy and Board of Regenerative Medicine. SAFE✓™ standards are built to be clinically operable and aligned with FDA expectations, positioning certified products for smoother regulatory submissions and mainstream adoption.

Led by in-house counsel with experience at a NASDAQ-listed identity and data-verification company, paired with financial-planning expertise. This layer is currently leading the SAFE✓™ certification-mark registration domestically with the USPTO and internationally under the Madrid Protocol.

This layer protects the standard as intellectual property, so it can be licensed and relied on over the long term.
